A sermon based on Micah 5:2-5a, Rev. J. Orlando Flahn
For the last three Sundays of Advent, God has spoken to us through the prophets Jeremiah, Malachi, and Zephaniah, proclaiming the coming of the Messiah to restore all things. This Sunday, we hear from Micah, the final prophet for our preaching series for this year’s Advent. He declares that the Ruler of Israel and the world will be born in Bethlehem, a city so little among the clans of Judah. For centuries, God’s people wondered if He would ever fulfill His promise to send the Messiah. Micah declares that Christmas is a promise kept by God.
