Pentecost marks the birth of the church—a moment when God fulfilled His promise by pouring His Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:16). Empowered by this Spirit, the early believers were able to share the Gospel in multiple languages, enabling the different nations gathered in Jerusalem to hear about Jesus.
Completely amazed, they exclaimed, “How can this be? These people are all from Galilee, and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages!” (Acts 2:7-8)
Today, Pentecost calls us into action to celebrate our diversity and embrace the nations that God is bringing to our congregation. Let us unite in His vision for our congregation, where we engage with the world around us by communicating His message of death, resurrection, and forgiveness in languages that people can understand.
