A sermon based on Luke 9:28-36, by Guest Pastor, Rev. Jim Kleinfelter.
Sunday is Transfiguration Sunday, transitioning from the Epiphany season (in which God shows His Savior to the world) to the season of Lent, with its movement toward the cross. Before going through the days of Jesus’ rejection and sufferings, Peter, James and John get a glimpse of Jesus’ powerful and glorious true identity – lest they forget; lest we forget as we go through dark times! Life is full of disappointments and things not working out. We need to remember the God under Whom we live: He may seem absent or weak sometimes, but He still is Who He is, and in the end He will work everything out wonderfully! Keep this image in mind to keep your thinking straight!
