A sermon based on Matthew 25:14-30, Rev. J. Orlando Flahn
In the sermon this Sunday, we will learn that our talents and gifts are from God, and “as each has received a gift,” we are to “use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10). All our talents and spiritual gifts, not just some, come from God. Our community needs you and your natural and spiritual abilities to further His kingdom. It’s time to use your God-given talents and gifts, particularly during this transition period in our congregation. No one’s talents and gifts are better or more important than anyone else’s. God saved us as His community and wants us to steward our gifts for the sake of others. We honor God by appreciating His talents He’s given us to serve His people. Paul says, “God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be?” (1 Cor 12:18–19 KJV)
