Mission reports, 2025

We’ve been blessed with a vehicle to get around (which has been a challenge on every trip) and it’s on the way to Liberia to meet us on our next journey in February 2026.
February 19:
- 12:26 AM: Off to the airport!
- 4:39 AM: We’ve made it safely to Accra, Ghana. Waiting to take off for Lome, Togo.
- 6:50 AM: Safely arrived in Lome, Togo! A small small wait to transfer to Ethiopia Air to Dulles USA.

February 18: The long beautiful car ride to get to Kpatawee Falls Tuesday was well worth the drive!
In the evening we had a family Devotion, Time of Thanks, and Prayer together. Then it was off to packing for our early trip to Marshall Airport in the morning. Looks like Little Anna is planning to come home in our luggage (we would be sooooo happy if we could! We’re going to miss her!)

Thanks for all of your support and prayers! They are truly appreciated and felt on this Mission Trip!
Prayers for Safe Travels! See you soon!

February 17: Slight schedule change Monday due to some necessary repairs to the vehicle. So no Kpatawee Falls Monday. Instead we spent the afternoon at the Outdoor Market in Downtown Monrovia!
When we got home, we had a small visit with Willet’s Mom & Auntie. Then off to bed to get rested!

February 16: Sunday Worship Day!

Wonderful worship with our friend Pastor Peter & his wife Mary at Koinonia Baptist Church in Buchanan. Martha led Sunday school with a group of children. The kids were so excited! Afterwards we had fellowship and lunch with Pastor Flahn’s oldest brother George from Georgia USA and his family. We had a beautiful drive from Buchanan to the Flahn House in Monrovia. It was a nice reunion & relaxing Sunday with family.
We went outside and stargazed and saw several planets and constellations! God’s handiwork is amazing! Then we enjoyed a special treat of ICE CREAM! It is so creamy and refreshing! (Last year we always mentioned getting ice cream on the whole trip and never got it! So we were determined to try it this year! It was such a special & yummy treat!)
Tomorrow we are off on a long road trip to Kpatawee Waterfall!
February 15: What an AMAZING Dedication Ceremony today! God’s Favor is surely on this place! We Thank You God for your many blessings and for the strong future of this school! Amen! Our hearts are FULL from this ceremony today! Many dignitaries were there and were VERY impressed with the school! The Board of Education was there and made some strong promises which make the future of this school even brighter! We thank you God!!!! What GOD has done – no man can undo! Many speakers gave inspiring words of empowerment to the children and parents. Oh God we praise and thank you for the JOY of this day and for the bright future of this school! God we thank and praise you for the many people who have given their blessings, prayers, and support of this mission over the years! God IS Good! ALL the Time! ALL the Time. GOD IS GOOD!!!! Amen!
The kids sang the Gbueglay School Song today!
The villagers praising God in thanks for this great thing He has done!
There is nothing you cannot do oh God Great Jehovah! Amen!
Celebrating! Congratulations! God has done it for you!
Bible Recitations!
February 14: Things have been going GREAT this week – almost too perfect! This morning while driving through Buchanan, we smelled gas and experienced difficulty with our gas gauge and putting gas in the car. So, our morning started with a trip to the mechanic and a lot of prayer!
Luckily, after inspection, it seems the seal on the gas tank had jostled loose from the bumpy road to Flahntown and it was an easy $15 repair (including diagnosis and labor!)
While waiting outside, a curious little boy came over while I was making notes with my Bible for VBS. I thought, OK God, VBS HERE this morning!!!! So we went on a “picture walk of the children’s Bible and I paraphrased several stories to him. I kept asking if he wanted more – and he kept nodding his head yes. A bit later, two more young boys came by and listened from afar (while slowly getting closer and closer until we all were sitting together reading God’s Word and drawing crosses and other things in my journal. I pulled out some “Valentine’s From God” hearts to give to them and talked about God’s love for us.
When I gave them the hearts, one of the young mechanics came over and we spoke a bit about Jesus. Then he asked for a Bible. He said he goes to church early on Sunday and stays after service to read the Bible but has to leave it there. (Sounds like a next step for future Mission Teams)
The truck was almost reassembled and we were visited by several street marketers. A man with a bag of shoes for sale on his head, a woman with hard boiled eggs on her head, and man from the market came with some fish. WOW!!! What a BIG FISH! We couldn’t pass it up…we’ll be enjoying it for dinner!
Thank you God for the opportunities to share of Your Love today! Thank you for small problems and big opportunities! God IS Good!!!
Abel, Pastor Flahn’s brother and our driver, knelt down to Lord in Praise! Praise God! An easy fix and we’re on our way!
We got to the village after the kids had eatten their lunch! They were sooooo happy to see us!!!!!
We focused on Jesus’ love for us through John 3:16, the Easter & Resurrection story, and Jesus blesses the children (we are His children and he loves us!!!)

February 13: Such a GREAT day of VBS! God is Love!

Today we learned about God’s love for us through the Parables of “The Lost Sheep” and “The Prodigal Son.” What an amazing fun day! God is Good!
February 12, 2025: We made it up the road to Flahntown today!!!!! Such a joyous reunion and we took a tour of the school! Fabulous!!!! To God be ALL the Glory!

Well, well, well!!! To God be ALL the Glory!

February 11, 2025: We’ve landed safely in Togo!!!! Wonderful flight! About an hour wait for our connecting flight to Monrovia! Perfect to stretch our legs, change out of cold weather clothes, and charge up devices. GOD IS GOOD!
Getting ready to take off on a shorter 3 Hour flight to Monrovia, Liberia. Last stop! From there we have a 45min-1 hour drive to Pastor Flahn’s house. We’ll wash up & get settled, have a lite dinner, & a good night’s rest to wake up to drive to check-in to our hotel and then a visit to see our friends from the Village – Flahntown!
After we got all 7 bags and 3 carry-ons, Abel (Pastor Flahn’s brother) picked us up and we were off to drive to The Mission House – The Flahn Home. Here are some pictures of the drive, the setting sun, and the full moon when we got there (45 min-1hr from the airport).

We arrived, unloaded, visited a bit with family we’ve missed since last year, ate dinner of pepper chicken stew with rice, enjoyed a photo shoot and catching up, and then had to go sort & Re-Pack all the luggage for our trip to Flahntown tomorrow.

Go. Love. serve.
